Hi, I’m Paije

I’m a local bookseller, and last year thanks to my wonderful friends, family, customers and generous strangers, raised £400 to buy books for the children spending time on Ashford Hospital’s Padua children’s Ward.

This year I’m working alongside East Kent Hospitals Charity, (who coordinate amazing work to support wards all over East Kent), to raise money only for Padua ward, but also for Margate Hospital’s Rainbow children’s ward too. I’ve also teamed up with a local, fellow bookseller, Amber Louise!

Both of these wards have played a big part in looking after my daughter since she was born almost 3 years ago. With us spending time on Padua ward from just 3 weeks old, to a longer stay at 6 months old.

The care, both wards have provided have allowed my daughter to be seen, treated and receive a life-changing operation in Great Ormand Street Hospital, in November 2020.

Unfortunately due to the newest Covid 19- Omicron variant, these wards have once again had to close their vital playrooms and toys and resources are being restricted to limit infection.
To tackle this children are currently being given their own activity packs, to help distract and entertain them during the entire duration of their hospital stays.

Our aim is to raise as much as possible to buy books, games, puzzles and crafts, to be able to create more packs, as the demand for packs exceeds the wards’ current available resources.
